mIRC 6.33 was released on July 18, 2008.

Win32 OpenSSL 0.9.8h was released recently but only works with Windows XP and Windows Vista.  They are working on a new build for Win9x and NT.  This version of Win32 OpenSSL requires Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable.

Both of these work fine with mIRC Power Pack 8.0.0 Build 7.169.

There is no updated version (yet) of mIRC FiSH for mIRC 6.33, so if you need encryption, stick with mIRC 6.32 (for now) and read below.  You can still upgrade your Win32 OpenSSL.

Update:  I did find a FiSH patch that claims to work with a "clean" installation of mIRC... which may or may not be true... but it does not work with MPP, so for now I can't do anything with it.  I will keep you posted.

Who's up for some testing?

I have been testing mIRC 6.32 with MPP 7.169 "Forgotten Soul" and I haven't found any real problems.

Now it's time to up the ante with encryption.

If you want to help test, download and install MPP-FiSH:

MPP FiSH

Then update your mIRC EXE with this file (7-Zip or IZarc required):

Updated mIRC 6.32 EXE (Hacked for FiSH Encryption)

After that, fire up MPP and join the #mpp channel on ETG.

The key for the #mpp channel is:

Sometime in the last few weeks, FreeNode.Net altered their NickServ responses for successful and failed authentications.  The new style is shown here:

(07:07:46 PM) -NickServ- You are now identified for sgt-d.
(08:37:34 PM) -NickServ- Invalid password for sgt-d.

Anyway, I updated mcc.exe tonight to compensate for the new responses for all 30 MPP Connections.

Grab it here:  mcc.exe

Copy the new mcc.exe over this file:

C:\Program Files\mIRC Power Pack\system\mpp\mcc.exe

Run MPP Control Center one time and click "Save" to update your connection script.

mIRC 6.32 was released on May 21, 2008.

So far it seems to work well with the latest MPP, but you might want to turn off the new automatic update on the help menu.

I forgot to mention last night that if you use the new mIRC...  there is no new release of mIRC FiSH, so you will not be able to use MPP FiSH for encryption.

mIRC Power Pack RC13 now works with mIRC 6.31 and is backwards compatible with mIRC 6.30, 6.21 and possibly 6.20.

If you have already installed the new MPP, but you aren't seeing the new mIRC 6.31, close mIRC, go to your Program Files\mIRC Power Pack folder and run migrate.exe to update your mIRC to 6.31.

To check your mIRC version in mIRC type: //echo -a $version

Anyone wanting to help test the new MPP FiSH (encrypted chat), please download it here. This file absolutely REQUIRES that you install mIRC 6.31 first.

mIRC 6.3 has been released... but don't attempt to use the new EXE with any existing versions of MPP.

Based on the number of bugs that have been reported so far, I am not planning on updating MPP until a bugfix release of mIRC is made public.

Why doesn't mIRC 6.3 work with the current MPP?

MPP still assumes that Connection ID #1 is your first server, 2 is your next server, etc.

mIRC 6.3 sees things differently. Your first server is 1, second is 69, third is 71, etc.

Nice change.

Anyway, be patient, hopefully he will fix it soon.
